Various of rally STORYLINE: Dozens of workers from a party led by former Prime Minister Imran Khan were arrested in Karachi on Sunday following a rally held ahead of the country's elections next month. Police also used tear gas to disperse the Pakistan Tehreek e Insaaf (PTI) workers. The developments come less than two weeks before national parliamentary elections on Feb. 8 that Khan is barred from contesting because he has a criminal conviction. “We organized a rally today. Our leader Imran Khan had called for these rallies across Pakistan,” said Waheedullah Shah, a PTI worker. Shah said the demonstration was peaceful, and added that they "will not be deterred by such tactics. We stand by Imran Khan and will always support him." Khan remains behind bars and is facing a number of cases.
