Various of roads blocked by police to stop people from visiting beach ANNOTATION: The authorities have closed beaches in Pakistan's coastal city of Karachi in anticipation of Cyclone Biparjoy. 4. Fishermen fishing close to beach, avoiding going far out into the rough sea 5. Anchored fishing boats ANNOTATION: Fishermen have been ordered back to shore and hundreds of boats are now anchored in the harbour. 6. Various of roads blocked by police to stop people from visiting beach ANNOTATION: Cyclone Biparjoy is forecast to make landfall on Thursday and could reach maximum wind speeds of up to 124 miles per hour. STORYLINE: Authorities on Monday closed beaches in Pakistan's coastal city of Karachi and ordered fishermen back in anticipation of Cyclone Biparjoy. Restaurants near the beach were closed to avoid loss of life, leaving the waiters there without work. But people still managed to reach the beaches to view the powerful waves caused by the upcoming cyclone. Authorities also ordered fishing boats back because of the threat posed by the approaching cyclone. Hundreds of boats were seen anchored at the Karachi fish harbour. From the Arabian Sea, Cyclone Biparjoy is aiming at Pakistan’s Sindh province and the coastline of the western Indian state of Gujarat. It is forecast to make landfall on Thursday and could reach maximum wind speeds of up to 124 miles per hour (200 kilometers per hour).
