| Video Discription | The external ear in some unfortunate individuals can be wrongly positioned, wrongly sized or can be nonexistent when they are born. Otoplasty is a corrective surgery is done to reform or reshape the eternal ear or the pinna as it is called. Otoplasty can be used for small procedures such as floppy ears or bat ears as they are referred to and this can be done as a very short outpatient procedure and easily dealt with. It is a short surgery done a short stay may be needed in the hospital. The cost may vary from 40,000 to 70,000 rupees depending on the hospital from where you are doing the procedure, the external ear is shaped thus outside and it funnels sound into the ear. Sometimes people who have got very wide or floppy ears have got an extension of the ear going outside the ear having a large angle from the head. Otoplasty is done to correct this by doing a surgery from behind and reshaping the ear such that we can pull it back and make it more aesthetically acceptable. |
