I've shown that the two accounts that we use will be bad debts expense along with allowance for doubtful accounts which is a contra asset account. The point of this video is to find out the actual numbers of our allowance for doubtful accounts and then make an estimation/journal entry for the adjustment. This method uses a percentage of sales revenue and it is the income statement approach.
