In Beckley, WV, U.S. Army soldiers police strike areas during the state’s coal strikes. In the episode’s next segment, Mayor John Porter of Los Angeles greets new Hollywood actresses Linda Watkins, Conchita Montenegro, and Miss Helen Mack (03:24). Mayor Porter toasts the young women. New York Governor Al Smith visits Sing Sing Prison in 1920 and lays the corner stone for a new addition (04:48). In the “Personalities” segment, viewers see Max Reinhardt as he arrives in the U.S. (05:33), Norman Rockwell and his wife, and Judge Kenesaw Mountain Landis working at his desk in Chicago before becoming the first commissioner of baseball.
