In the year 2009, the first election was held for the Ghaziabad Lok Sabha seat, and BJP candidate Rajnath Singh emerged victorious. The fielding of star candidates has also made securing bail a challenge in the electoral battleground. In the 2014 elections, winner candidate VK Singh, excluding all others, had their bails seized. Among them were Raj Babbar, Sajia Ilmi, and other stalwarts. Raj Babbar holds the record for the biggest defeat from this seat.
