Today, we trekked the Togakushi Shrine in the forested mountains of Myoko-Togakushi renzan National Park. Chilly and slippery conditions along our way took us 2 hrs to reach the upper shrine which spectacularly stands in the steep mountainside of Mt. Togakushi. The long row of Japanese cedar trees leading to the approach of the upper shrine is simply overwhelming. Before leaving Togakushi which is known as the birthplace of Soba, we enjoyed another soba noodles to fill us up.
