| Video Discription | YAMA MR10 DRUM is an MPC2000 beat disk that is a clone of the MR10 analog Drum Machine. What’s on the Disk? MR10.PGM/ MR10.ALL The MR10.PGM is an analog drum kit made for the MPC2000. The lows are very punchy, and although they smack you right in the chest, the MPC couldn’t sample the full depth of the bass. The MPC’s character added slight crispiness to the hats, cymbals, and snares. The MR10.ALL contains MIDI recreations of the 12 factory programmed sequences in the MR10. On the MR10, each pattern has a dedicated button to select it. Multiple pattern buttons are selected simultaneously to create complex rhythm patterns. Merging beats is accomplished in the MPC by copying and pasting events. BDAC Demo BDAC_002.PGM/ DEMO_002.MID The BDAC_002.PGM adds a Rhodes loop and a selection of vocal samples to the original MR10.PGM. All demos are released with bonus content exclusively for their owners. The MR10 is part of a collection of entry-level instruments released in 1984 for budget-minded musicians. The Producer Series is similar to what a musical software suite is like on today’s systems combining a synthesizer, drum machine, mixer, patch bay, and 4-track cassette re- corder that fit together nicely in a custom console complete with branded headphones and monitors. The MR10 is fun to play around on, but it begs to be cloned by the MPC. Due to its lack of MIDI and bass drum tuning capabilities, the emulation or clone of the MR10 may be more capable than the original machine. Since the MR10 cannot create new patterns or sequences, it finds new life in the MPC. |
