| Video Discription | So you think you are pretty strong? Do you want to see how strong you are? Great!! Well maybe the Mochaiage event at Daigo temple, is the event for you. Every year on February 23rd, Men and women test out their muscles by lifting up some, mochi (Japanese rice cakes). Yes it all sounds easy, but men have to lift 150kgs worth of delicious mochi and women, 90kgs. The challenger who lifts the mochi for the longest, is the winner. And the prize? Well a piece of some delicious mochi, of course. Women and men of all sizes battled it out to become the Mochi Champion. There were lots of groans and clenched faces as the challengers took on the ol' mighty mochi. Some did the challenge for fun and some took it very seriously. It made the Kyoto Fan Team want to take on the mochi ourselves. Kyoto Fan vs Mochi. Maybe it can be our goal for 2015?!
