| Video Discription | Mojang has released the first snapshot for Minecraft 1.21! After learning about it at Minecraft Live 2023, Snapshot 23w42a brings us a hands-on look at hands-free crafting with the new redstone automation block: the Crafter! I've been preparing for the Crafter by setting up an automated factory for redstone components. But now the Crafter is slotted into the system, does it work how I expected? We look at manually fed auto-crafting and how the block interacts with hoppers and other inventories. We set up a simple pair of Crafters to compact bones into bone blocks through the middle stage of bonemeal - perfect for your skeleton farm! Then I turn my attention to a factory design which dispenses the ingredients for redstone components into a hopper, and discover that timing is crucial for using this block - since items grouping together in water streams or inside a hopper can lead to the ingredients being added in the wrong order. We also pay close attention to the texture and sounds of the Crafter - then jump into a Survival world to discover the crafting recipe and see how quickly we can acquire one!
