Rockefeller Arts Center at the State University of New York at Fredonia presented a free lecture with noted author and journalist Carl Hoffman entitled “Mystery Solved: The Disappearance of Michael C. Rockefeller” on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 5 p.m. in Marvel Theatre. The event was co-sponsored by the Daniel A. Reed Library and the Department of Sociocultural and Justice Sciences with support from the Carnahan Jackson Humanities Fund of the Fredonia College Foundation. Hoffman's 2014 book, “Savage Harvest A Tale of Cannibals, Colonialism and Michael Rockefeller’s Tragic Quest for Primitive Art," explores what became of Rockefeller after his disappearance in New Guinea in 1961 while on an expedition to collect primitive art. |
