| Video Discription | This was a presentation given at the annual Association of Medical Illustrators meeting on July 28th, 2021 by TVASurg team members Paul Kelly and Jean Lin. https://meetings.ami.org/2021/ The use of video to communicate medical education is ubiquitous, most significantly in surgery. There is an ocean of surgical videos on YouTube and surgical association websites, yet navigating through them to find the best examples of high quality content can be daunting. How can this be? The answer is that most of the videos of surgical procedures are not edited with education and design principles in mind. In this presentation, Paul and Jean will lay out the founding video design principles which have guided the development of the Toronto Video Atlas of Surgery, one of the premiere sources of surgical video content on the web.
