The town hall stands majestically in the heart of the old town on the banks of the River Reuss.There are countless ways to spend the day and evening around the town hall. Switzerland’s best weekly market is held every Tuesday and Saturday between 6 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Rathausquai. The water level of Lake Lucerne is still regulated manually by the removal or insertion of timber «needles». This regulation – to prevent flooding, for instance – allows the level of the lake to be kept at a height to suit the seasons, regardless of the weather.
