| Video Discription | A 58-year-old female patient with a BMI of 26 kg/m2 and ASA score of II was diagnosed with obstructed defecation syndrome (CCCS 18/31). Clinical exam as well as MRI defecography revealed a large rectocele and a severe descent of the posterior perineal compartment (8 cm below the PCL). She has had a vaginal hysterectomy many years earlier. Conservative treatment including laxatives, dietary management, pelvic floor exercises and biofeedback therapy was not successful. The joint pelvic-floor MDT indicated a laparoscopic ventral mesh rectopexy (LVMR). We performed this LVMR using the ArtiSential® bipolar forceps, the monopolar spatula and the needle holder. |
