| Video Discription | The LIFE of an INTERNATIONAL MONK in Thailand (BUDDHIST MONK IN THAILAND) Many people come from around the world to Thailand in order to ordain as a Buddhist monk at the International Dhammadayadas Ordination Program (IDOP). IDOP is a program that gives Westerners an opportunity to live and practice as a Buddhist monk. The Dhammadayadas experience first-hand the training of the Lord Buddha in a monastery. The highlight of this program is that it is taught in English, Thai and Chinese. Men from around the world receive first-class dhamma teachings, meditation guidance, and living with the 227 precepts. This is one monk's experience of the IDOP program and why he chose to ordain in Thailand. Being a monk alone is difficult, but being a foreigner monk in Thailand is even more difficult. I hope this interview will give you an inside look into our experiences, challenges, and successes.
