In fact, all of our sacred texts and ancient traditions are based on critically reviewing our own history for us to learn what went wrong, and to pass down the lessons of how we must overcome. That being said, we can also take inspiration from other peoples who've achieved success or embodied greatness. Although our role is to be a light to the nations, it doesn't mean we can't find light and inspiration from others near us. Although the term "black" in itself is social construct, since people are not colors, the application of segregation and continuous persecution due to one's color of skin created real life and generational experiences that became a valid core experience of their collective human identity. The Civil Rights Movement in America is beyond inspiring. In the United States black people fought, sweat, bled, and some even died to earn their rights in a land that viewed them as inferior or as a threat. What was done to earn those rights should serve as a model of self empowerment and collective unity that many other peoples should respect and learn from, including the Jewish People.
