| Video Discription | How to Steps: 1. Remove metal brackets along counter edge. 2. Turn off water valves and disconnect connection to sink and drainage pvc pipes. 3. Remove old sink clips that hold the sink in place. I just hammered them. 4. Remove old sink by placing something longer than the sink over it, and tie a zip tie or something strong to the drainage hole and the object you use over the sink (I used a long peice of wood). This gives you something to grab on and get some leverage. Sink should come out relatively easy. 5. If countertop is screwed or nailed in, you must find those and unscrew them. Then remove the countertop from the cabinets. 6. Once countertop is away from the wall, remove the wooden backsplash by tapping it lightly with a hammer until it budges. 7. Remove metal brackets between the countertop and backsplash. 8. Since there was a gap after I removed the backsplash, I decided to measure the gap and cut out pieces from the backsplash since they're the right lengths I need. 9. Nail the gap filler pieces to the edges of the countertop where needed. 10. Sand the whole countertop because you want a rough surface to glue down your new laminate piece on. 11. Sweep off the excess dust and wipe down the counter with a wet cloth or cleaning product. 12. Measure the edge of your countertop (Length and Height) and draw these measurement lines on the new laminate sheet with something you can wipe off later. I used a chalk marker. 13. Cut the laminate strips for the edges of the countertop with a box cutter. Make sure to score the laminate multiple times, so that you guarantee a clean break off. 14. Once fully scored, break off laminate strip by bending it upwards until it snaps off. It should give you a clean edge. 15. Spread a layer of contact cement on the edge of the countertop, and simply stick on the laminate strips to the best of your ability. It's more important to make sure the bottom piece is straight and centered because you will end up trimming the top part anyway. 16. Press and roll the laminate strips on well with a rubber roller. 17. Trim the top edge with a router using a Laminate Sheet Router Bit. You can get a router and bit at Home Depot or Lowes, but the cheapest option is Harbor Freight if you have one. I got the router for less than $25 and the bit is around $10. 18. The router doesn't let you trim all the way up to the wall. it leaves about 2-3 inches of laminate sticking up, so you need to clean up the corners. I used a sheet metal cutting snip to cut off the big chunk, and then followed up with a metal file to clean it up. 19. Draw measurement lines on the laminate sheet again. 20. Score with a box cutter and separate your counter piece from the laminate sheet. 21. Cover the whole cut-out laminate counter piece with contact cement using a paint roller and/or a brush. 22. Also, cover the whole old countertop with contact cement. Hit the edges with a brush to minimize mess. 23. Lay wooden dowels or something like them across the countertop, spread about 2 feet from each other. This helps insure that you lay the countertop perfectly in the right spot. Remove one dowel at a time and press down on the sheet. 24. Use the rubber roller to press out all the air bubbles and imperfections. 25. Use a router to trim the edges again. 26. Use a router to cut out the sink hole. Start small and work outward from there. 27. Clean edges with a metal file again. 28. Use a caulking gun to spread silicone sealant around the edge of the sink hole cutout. 29. Slowly and safely lower the sink into the sink hole. 30. Wipe away the excess silicone as soon as you can, and anything that won't come off with a rag, you can use rubbing alcohol or just scratch it off with your finger. 31. Install the new sink clips to help hold the sink in place. 32. Install sink faucet and reconnect water lines, pvc drain pipe, and turn valve back on.
