The fieldwork and writing was completed by Komal Kothari and published by Rupayan Sansthan, Rajasthan Institute of Folklore. Title: Kurjan Track Artists: Shumar Khan Langa, Alladin Langa & Noor Mohmad Langa Notes: Kurjan, literally a sand curlew, tells the story of a woman who is seized by a dream in which her husband visits her bedroom. Her mother-in-law dispels the woman's illusions by rhetorically confirming her son's absence. The woman looks to the mythic figure of the kurjan for comfort and asks it to convey her messages to her beloved through greetings written on various parts of the bird's body.
