I mean look at the vest…. The veeeessssttttt. The first footage looks like another generic Sony Venverse movie, so anyone “Craven” a great Spidey Villain origin story… I guess there’s always El Muerto. But let’s jump into this trailer, breakdown the story, some easter eggs, theories, blah blah blah, you get it. Gear up, because it’s “Kravein’ Time” Alright so this is a trailer…. I can say this much. But Idk if anyone over at Sony flipped through any sort of Kraven comics for this, because this story, his origins, everything is all over the place. Storywise obviously an origin, which is absolutely setting the stage for Kraven going up against his pappy, Nikolai Kravinoff, played by Russell Crowe. I remember from the 90’s animated Spider-Man series, Kraven having a bond and love for animals, but also wanting to hunt the most elite of apex predators, which it looks like he’s much more of the former in this trailer. Hesitating on shooting the lion, which results in his “perceived’ death, and then later seeing him essentially having animal communication skills. Kraven is the Land Aquaman. It’s going to be the age ole’ revenge story, with Kraven feeling betrayed by someone close to him, perishing and being left for dead. But is able to have a second chance at life, from the help of a cat, and in doing so is given magnificent powers beyond what a human can do, siding with those cats and animals, to track down and hunt the people responsible. This is also the same exact plot for the hit critically acclaimed 2004 movie, CatWoman, Yaaaaaaayyyy!! The funniest or I guess creative part of this trailer is, like I mentioned, how Kraven gains his powers. Essentially mauled and left for dead by his father and team, until a drop of lion’s blood miraculously drips directly into one of Kraven’s holes, we get the stereotypical inner body chemistry change, annnnnddd now he has increased attributes from the looks of it. In other forms of media, Kraven gains enhanced strength, agility, speed, stamina, vision, jumping abilities, slowed aging, and endurance, which all looks to be on blast here in the trailer from the opening chase scene, but uhhhh yeah lion’s blood was never the origin story.
