| Video Discription | Know how to make Mavinakayi Chitranna or Mango Rice the traditional brahmin style without Onion/Garlic. Can be prepared for festivals, family functions, and other special occasions. Narrated in Kannada. Also don't miss my more recent post on two varieties of Mavinakayi Chitranna - https://youtu.be/M8GzTpvz3DI Ingredients: Oil - 2 Tbsp Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp Urad Dal - 1 tsp Channa Dal or Bengal Gram - 1/2 tsp Groundnuts - 2 Tbsp Curry Leaves - 8-10 Green Chillies - 3-4 Grated Raw Mango - 3/4 Cup Turmeric Powder - 1/2 tsp Salt Sugar - 1/2 tsp Cooked Rice - 4 Cups Grated Coconut - 1/4 Cup Coriander Leaves - 2 Tbsp Method: 1. Add 2 Tbsp Oil to a pan. 2. Once Oil is hot, add 1 tsp Mustard Seeds. 3. Once Mustard Seeds splutter, add 1 tsp Urad Dal. 4. Add 1/2 tsp, Channa Dal, or Bengal Gram. 5. Add 2 Tbsp Groundnuts. 6. Roast till the Groundnuts turn slightly golden in color. 7. Add 8-10 Curry Leaves and fry them. 8. Add 3-4 slit Green Chillies and fry everything well. 9. Add 3/4 Cup grated Raw Mango. Fry the Raw Mango for 2-3 minutes. 10. Add 1/2 tsp Turmeric Powder and mix well. 11. Fry till the water content of the Raw Mango disappears. 12. Add Salt as per taste. 13. Add 1/2 tsp Sugar and mix well. 14. Add 4 Cups of cooked Rice and mix well. 15. Add 1/4 Cup of grated fresh Coconut and mix well. 16. Add 2 Tbsp of Coriander Leaves and mix well.
