In this video, I'll be sharing my own personal experience and learnings on how I managed to secure three different jobs in Switzerland since arriving in 2019: From an edu-tech start-up, a small local e-learning consultancy in Geneva, to currently in Europe's largest football association, I have worked for amazing companies and am incredibly thankful that expat life in Switzerland didn't come at the sacrifice of my career. Something which I never shared publicly in the past was that I was actually caught in a long season of unemployment for 9 MONTHS during the COVID-19 pandemic. So believeme when I say I fully understand the identity loss, the helplessness, the discouragement, and how challenging it can be to rebuild a career in a new country. It's been since 3 years on, and now that I am able to look back on hindsight I'm actually grateful for that season of my life: Because it toughened up my character, built up my perseverance, and more importantly, had it not been for quitting my full-time job, I wouldn't have started out on Youtube and share my Swiss journey with you guys! My aim of sharing this personal story is to give practical tips and inspiration that actually WORKED, and hopefully this could also help other trailing spouses or jobseekers.
