And it seems when the world doesn’t heed to Musk’s advice, then the 52-year-old, father of at least 10 children, is willing to fill the void himself. His persistent approach with female colleagues at SpaceX, urging them to have his babies, has now raised the issue of sexual misconduct… and Elon Musk is facing legal charges. Let’s take it from the top… In Back in December 2021, speaking at an event – the tech billionaire said that low and declining birth rates are “one of the biggest risks to civilization.” In February this year, Elon Musk tweeted – “Japan will disappear if something doesn’t change,” referring to statistics that show Japan has one birth per two deaths – resulting in a rapidly declining population. He repeated his views, this time stating that Europe – and particularly Greece and the Dutch nations are threatened by low birth rates that could eventually result in what he calls “dead civilizations.” Well, someone with over 187 million followers on X, a platform he owns, easily qualifies as an influencer. He is entitled to his opinion. And all his eccentric, sometimes radical views, some say are not a bug, but a feature of Elon Musk’s personality. But charges of sexual misconduct cannot be classified as a personality feature. These are serious allegations and Elon Musk must answer. So, what are the charges against Elon Musk? Well, eight former employees of Space X – all engineers - have accused Musk of sexual relationships at the workplace. Four women are among them who have come out and given evidence. One of them was part of Musk’s executive team. She has persuasive text messages to show for her case. Others have similar stories too. One of them has claimed that Musk repeatedly asked her to have his children. All say they have been fired illegally for raising the subject of sexual harassment and discrimination against women at Space X. An investigation by the Wall Street Journal, based on 48 individuals and supported by text messages, emails and other documents shows a culture of harassment and inappropriate behaviour at Space X. A “pervasive sexist culture” at Space X has come to light. The engineers allege that senior engineers at the company used euphemisms for sexual acts and male genitals to describe rocket components, creating a hostile work environment for women. Elon Musk’s obsession with having children seems to have gotten too far. He has allegedly offered high value benefits in return for sexual relationships to female co-workers and staff. And he hasn’t taken refusal well, resulting in an eventual exit of employees. While Musk has not replied to these allegations, his legal team calls the report full of “untruths” and “mischaracterizations.” Space X President & COO says, and I quote, “Elon is one of the best humans I know.” Space X has a stated policy that prohibits relationships at the workplace.
