Transcript: Anita Ali, Digital Product Management Director, Wells Fargo Once you identify what you want to do, you pursue, and you don't let anything stop you, because it's just noise in my, in my humble opinion. My name is Anita Ali. I was born in London, and my family moved to Pakistan, where my dad is from. Lived in Dubai for a little bit and ended up getting into University of Illinois at Chicago. I started my career as a full stock developer. At Wells Fargo, I’m enabling artificial intelligence machine learning, natural language processing, to help our employees request IT services at speed and scale. (Good afternoon, everybody. Let's get started. ) A well life is a perfect balance of professional life, being challenged, and bringing your true, self authentic self to the table, being respected for what you bring, your ideas, and ability to support you through your journey. Well life, to me, also means that you are able and feel supported by your employer to give back to the community. One of my passion projects is to move the needle or change the game for women in technology or in STEM careers. (Are you curious about how computers work?) Activating mentoring circles with middle and high school students with our goal to fuel the STEM pipeline. Back in 2022, went all the way to Pakistan, covering end-to-end 9000 miles. I reached a very rural area in Pakistan. There was no school, no electricity. We started with solar panels and took Raspberry Pi devices and turned them into online type training courses. And my goal was to go and see how we can enable that learning 9000 miles away from where I live. (child speaking) I want to make sure that the same opportunities are available for every single girl and make sure that the playing field is leveled for others to enter into technology careers, or any other career, and ultimately motivate as many women along the way. |
