If its not documented in the records – it doesn’t exist. 7. Seventh - Be prepared for insurance companies to try and diminish your claim by arguing that your injuries are pre-existing. 8. Eighth – you can overcome the pre-existing injury argument by arguing that your pre-existing injuries were aggravated or exacerbated by the accident. 9. Nine - Keep everything: receipts, bottles of meds, shoes you were wearing if slip and fall, clothes etc. 10. Ten - Be careful what you post and what you do – they’re watching. 11. Eleven, focus on future damages and permanency. You can recover for future medical expenses lost wages and permanent injuries. 12. Twelve - Exhaust all the benefits available to you.
