| Video Discription | Puran Poli is an authentic traditional Maharashtrian recipe. It is a sweet Indian flatbread specially made for holi festival. The stuffing of poli is made with chala dal and jaggery. Though a bit tedious and time-consuming recipe, worth trying as end result is just amazing. Let’s make Puran Poli today. Ingredients for puran poli:- *Chana dal - 1/2 kg *Jaggery - 1/2 kg *Wheat flour - 650-700g *Cooking oil - around 3 tbsp *Turmeric powder - 1 small tsp *Nutmeg/Sonth powder - 1 tsp *Cardamom powder - 1/2 tsp *salt to taste *Ghee *Water to knead dough Katachi Amti is a specialty from the rich Maharashtrian cuisine. It is basically a thin, tangy and spicy lentil-based dish, made from the strained stocked of cooked Bengal gram (chana dal) which is tempered. The recipe is simple, easy and doesn’t take a long time to get cooked. Pair it with a puran poli or steamed rice, to enjoy a yummy alternative to your usual dal-rice or varan-bhaat combinations. Ingredients to make Katachi Amti:- *Chana dal's strained stock(broth) *cooked chana dal - around 6 tbsp *Fresh scrapped coconut - 4-5 tbsp *Onion - 2 medium size *Garlic cloves - 10-12 nos *Ginger - 2 inches *Few coriander leaves *Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp *kashmiri Red chilli powder - 2 tsp or + *Garam masala - 1.5 tsp or add goda masala as per your taste *Tamarind pulp - as per your taste or you can add 1 large tomato * Jaggery - little * Cooking oil - 5 tsp or 3 tbsp *Mustard seeds - 1 tsp *Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp *Hing/asafoetida - a pinch *Curry leaves - 2 springs *Salt to taste water if required to adjust consistency adjust spices as per your taste 👍 🙏Thank you and don't forget to SUBSCRIBE 😍👍 |
