(This might upset some of my audience but I want to let you know that I'm alright) Although I wasn't harassed sexually, I was constantly targeted by males to put colors on me. This is a common practice during Holi where girls are targeted 100 percent, but I must admit, it was a beautiful celebration. I'll be honest with you, it was quite scary at times. During the festival, I was drenched with a lot of color and water, which is part of the celebration. As a solo female traveler, it can be daunting to navigate such a huge crowd, but I had a lot of fun and created some unforgettable memories. Overall, I want to give an honest account of my experience during the Holi festival in Mathura and Vrindavan. The city of Mathura, located in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh in India, has a long history of celebrating Holi, which is considered the biggest festival of colors in India. According to Hindu mythology, Mathura is the birthplace of Lord Krishna, who is worshipped by millions of Hindus around the world. It is believed that Lord Krishna used to play Holi with his friends and loved ones in the streets of Mathura, which is why the festival holds a special significance in the city. The tradition of celebrating Holi in Mathura dates back to several centuries, and it has evolved over time to become one of the most popular and colorful festivals in India. The festival is celebrated in Mathura and the nearby towns of Vrindavan, Barsana, and Nandgaon, which are all associated with Lord Krishna.
