So this chemotherapy is given usually into the abdominal cavity. This heated intraperitoneal chemotherapy we call it as HIPEC. We give usually in the ovarian cancer or stomach cancer/gastric cancer, colon cancer which usually spreads to peritoneal cavity or the abdominal coverings of the stomach. So usually there is a special machine called for the heated intraperitoneal chemotherapy where the chemotherapy will be heated to 40-41 degree centigrade and then it is let into the abdominal cavity during the surgery and it will be allowed to be there for almost 60 minutes. So after that it is taken out and the surgery is closed. So this type of therapy, heated intraperitoneal therapy or HIPEC chemotherapy has shown, especially in ovarian cancer very good results. The remarkable results where it will prevent the disease coming back early.
