You can buy and sell ETFs just like stocks. You would require a Demat account, a trading account, and a savings account to begin investing in an ETF. The process of buying and selling an ETF is quite easy and straightforward. You can place a buy order from your trading account and receive the delivery of the ETF units in your Demat account. For selling the ETF units, select the ETF you wish to sell, enter the quantity, and place the order. The order settlement is done in T+2 days in India. Here ‘T’ is the day the order was executed. This implies it would take two days after the transaction for the ETF units to reflect in your Demat account.
