Officers pulled over 50-year-old Glenn Douglas Perry for an outstanding warrant related to failing to pay child support. The traffic stop escalated when Perry, who was known to authorities as being potentially dangerous, opened fire with a rifle as officers approached his vehicle. In the exchange of gunfire, 32-year-old Chetek Police Officer Emily Breidenbach and 23-year-old Cameron Police Officer Hunter Scheel were both struck by gunfire and killed. Perry was also shot during the incident and later died from his injuries at a hospital.
