| Video Discription | Volkwagen Golf VR6 - Top Gear with Jeremy Clarkson The Volkswagen Golf VR6 is a special version of the Volkswagen Golf type III. The car uses a VR6 engine, this engine has 6 cylinders instead of 4, with an unusual 15 degree V-angle. This makes the engine very compact and one cylinder head is sufficient. The cylinder capacity can be 2.8 or 2.9 liters, each with 2 valves per cylinder. The 2.8-litre version delivers 174 hp as standard, and is also used in the Volkswagen Passat, the Volkswagen Vento and the Sharan/Galaxy/Alhambra MPV. Mercedes Benz has also applied this block in the VITO. The 2.9 liter version has 190 hp and was used in the Corrado (former Volkswagen Coupé) as well as in the later Volkswagen Golf type III.
