| Video Discription | The GEL BLASTER STARFIRE glow-in-the-dark gel ball tracer unit requires two AAA batteries to light up the UV LEDs, and unfortunately, the batteries need to be removed after playing, because the switch is easy to accidentally turn on and will fully drain the batteries. It would be a lot more convenient to power the STARFIRE tracer unit from the blaster battery, especially since the onboard circuit has an auto shut-off. I tapped into the two wires that go to the front of the blaster and used a 3.3V voltage regulator to power the tracer unit. (Watch the video) https://youtu.be/cQoaJY9NcYE Now Gel Blaster has released the STARFIRE blasters, which come with a tracer module and are ready to shoot glow-in-the-dark gellets right out of the box. The STARFIRE is the latest version of the Gel Blaster SURGE with a unique color scheme and a UV tracer unit built into the hopper feed neck. The UV tracer unit is self-contained, removable, and requires 2 AAA batteries. An extra standard hopper feed neck is included, but I'm not sure why, because the UV tracer can be turned off when not needed. The advantage of the STARFIRE is that this gel blaster can be used during the day without tracer gels, and at night with tracer glow gel balls.
