| Video Discription | Hi friends, In this video let us see how to make a crispy and tasty garlic ribbon pakoda. Garlic ribbon pakoda is a variety of murukku also known as ola pakoda or ribbon pakoda. This crispy savory snack is easy to prepare and tastes good too. There are many variations of preparing this ribbon pakoda by altering the proportions of the ingredients. Each variation gives different taste to it. I have made this recipe with rice and fried gram flour which adds to the crispiness. The ratio should be 1:2 ,Fried gram: Rice flour .This can be stored in a airtight container for a week. It is an easy to make evening snack enjoyed by all. #Garlicribbonpakoda #ribbonpakoda #jacisculinarykitchen Ingredients: 1. Raw rice flour - 2 cups 2. Fried gram flour (pottu kadalai) - 1 cup 3. Garlic - 15 cloves 4. White sesame seeds - 2 tbsp 5. Oil - 50 ml 6. Red chilli powder - 1 tbsp 7. Salt - as required 8. Hing - a pinch 9. Oil for frying Note : Measure the ingredients using the measuring cups available in the market. Measuring cups: 1 Cup - 250 ml 1/2 Cup - 125 ml 1/3 Cup - 80 ml 1/4 Cup - 60 ml Measuring spoons: 1 tbsp - 15 ml 1 tsp - 5 ml 1/2 tsp - 2.5 ml 1/4 tsp - 1.25 ml According to this, you can measure your ingredients. Preparation: * Add fried gram (pottu kadalai) to a blender. * Make a fine powder. * Sieve the powdered fried gram flour. * Measure the fried gram powder using a measuring cup. * In a large bowl , sieve and add raw rice flour and fried gram flour together. * Along with the flour add white sesame seeds, red chilli powder, hing powder, required salt and mix well. Any coarse particles in the flour may break the ribbon pakoda while making or it may be difficult to press the mould. * Now add hot oil to the mixture and mix well. * Add 15 garlic cloves to a blender. Grind them to a fine paste and add a cup of water and strain it. * Now add this water to knead the dough. If required add more water. Adding garlic gives more taste and flavour to the ribbon pakoda. * Dough must be soft and non sticky. * Grease the mould with oil and attach a ribbon pakoda plate to the mould and fill the dough. * Heat oil, check by adding a small piece of dough to the oil if it comes up immediately the oil is ready to fry. * Press the dough directly to the hot oil in the circular motion. * Fry in medium high flame until it becomes golden and crispy. * Cool them and store in a airtight container.
