A little about Firhad Hakim’s Personal life Born and brought up in Chetla in South Kolkata, Hakim’s family is currently the 5th generation living in the locality at their century old ancestral house. Hakim’s father was a noted lawyer with a decorated career and represented the port trust (Hakim is mla from the same locality). Hakim’s mother was assistant headmistress of Maulana Azad School. Hakim married Ismat Hakim at the age of 26 in the year 1984 and she has been a pillar of strength for him throughout, they currently are a happy family of 3 daughters and a grand-daughter. Hakim has always been into sports. a swimmer, rower, horse rider, Hakim has been the local sports guy always. He is the first muslim since the independence of india to become the mayor of the city.
