At least this time it was academically interesting (at least to me) as someone who is currently researching corset wearing and women's relationship with the garment from the 1700s-1900s. Kim is also an excellent example of tight lacing gone "wrong", which has excellent parallels to Victorian writings about corsets and tight lacing. Finally, because I keep seeing this silly critique going around: the sweater + formal gown combo was not unique to Kim, but was actually on the Maison Margiela runway.
