The incumbent MP from Medinipur said the Election Commission “is like an uncle” and that the Trinamool Congress should not go to it with complaints. “It’s an electoral battle. They should fight it in the electoral contest.” Notably, the BJP secured 18 out of the 35 Lok Sabha seats in West Bengal in the 2019 polls, when Ghosh helmed the party’s state affairs.
