The majority of our students in the final years of their school life are uncertain about their future. In fact, they drift into college without any direction. Even those who have a dream do not know how to realise it owing to lack of proper guidance. Career Counseling Forum intends to fill that vacuum. OBJECTIVES: To provide information about existing opportunities regarding Conventional and Nonconventional Careers. To interview Young Achievers from the hills who could act as Role Models and motivate youngsters to achieve their dreams To give first hand information about Careers and tips on how to make it To provide information to young people who cannot go beyond the hills, on Training Institutes in and around Darjeeling To give information on Educational Loans and how to obtain them. PLAN OF ACTION: Enlist more like minded members to this group who are willing to help our youngsters Expand our 'Career Bank' by bringing in more and more young people from the hills covering all walks of life who have made it big in their respective fields. They could share their success stories through interviews at periodic intervals. The internet is a valuable resource but there is a deluge of information leaving the young ones more confused. The interactive interface will help career seekers to dispel their doubts. The Career Counseling Forum will help students discover new career paths. The Career Counseling Forum will help them understand what the sought after career demands in terms of qualification, training, experience and soft skills and how to achieve them. The Career Counseling Forum will enable them to introspect and recognise their inert talents and interests. The Career Counseling Forum can suggest ways of preparing themselves and move ahead. The Career Counseling Forum can make the young hopefuls aware of the costs involved and how to manage them. In a nutshell, the Career Counseling Forum will make them aware of managing the Brand called 'YOU". |
