They are spotted, and an intense burst of gunfire breaks out. Ukraine’s men shoot back and succeed in pinning the Russians down. With the Russians suppressed, they are able to move up their attack. They use rifles and grenades to flush the Russian soldiers out. The attack is a success, and the Russian position is eventually captured. Putin’s men have been advancing around Bakhmut in recent weeks. Ukraine lacks the ammunition and manpower to hold all of the frontline. But the Russians aren’t having everything their way, and are taking losses.
