| Video Discription | Cyclone Shaheen continues to hold Category 1 status as it makes its closest approach to Oman's capital, only around 65 kilometers to the south of the storm's eye. Shaheen is continuing westwards, and is expected to make landfall near Saham this evening. Some further strengthening cannot be ruled out on the approach to landfall, in light of very warm sea surface temperatures and very low wind shear, although the dry air environment consistent with the Arabian Peninsula is becoming an increasing threat for the storm's survival. Regardless, Shaheen is expected to deliver over 10 inches of rain for significant parts of northern Oman, and significant rainfall totals are also expected over the border in the United Arab Emirates tonight and tomorrow as the storm weakens inland.
