| Video Discription | Cyclone Mandous has reattained tropical storm status in the Arabian Sea, after its first life in the Bay of Bengal led it to landfall near Chennai some days ago. The storm is continuing in a generally westward direction, and is likely to peak fairly soon as a weak to moderate tropical storm, far away from land. Mandous will die off before completing its Arabian Sea crossing. Elsewhere, an area of interest located in the southern Indian Ocean continues to struggle to get a circulation together, and is heavily stretched at the moment. However, the system still has plenty of time to consolidate as it moves fairly little over the next three days. In the Bay of Bengal, the other area we have been monitoring is still active, and is a very broad disturbance off the coast of Sumatra, Indonesia. This system could eventually become a tropical cyclone as it approaches Sri Lanka and India. This may prove to be difficult though, and the storm may not come to fruition. Nonetheless, another rain event is becoming increasingly likely for the same areas affected by Mandous.
