Video Summary:
Hey, what's up guys? Houston here. Today, I want to give you a breakdown of the best credit cards to help you fix your bad credit. If you have negative accounts on your credit file, you'll need at least two to three positive accounts to offset them. Additionally, if you have collections accounts under a thousand dollars, it's recommended to pay them off, especially if you're looking to raise your credit score, buy a house, or qualify for a car loan with a lower interest rate.
When it comes to addressing negative items on your credit file, it's important to understand the guidelines. For dealing with collection accounts on your credit report, you'll need to follow the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) guidelines. On the other hand, when working with the credit bureaus, the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) guidelines are crucial.
Now, let's talk about some credit card options that you can qualify for. Credit.ai offers a credit line of up to $1,500, while Opfly provides a credit line of $1,000. Both of these cards report to the credit bureaus. Self is another good option as they offer a secured credit card, a secured loan, and rent reporting. Patel offers unsecured cards starting at $300, and Navy Federal provides the End Rewards Card, which can convert to a $2,000 credit line after six months of on-time payments.
To improve your credit score, consider joining Navy Federal if you have a military connection. They offer various accounts and services that can positively impact your internal score. Additionally, using Extra Debit and Opportune Visa can also help boost your credit score.
Remember to update your personal information with LexisNexis and freeze your account to prevent negative items from appearing on your credit report. Lastly, consider Stellify, an account that reports to all four credit bureaus.
