But beyond that, he was an incredible artist, well known for drawing beautiful women. His gorgeous ladies appeared in books like Phantom Lady, Sky Girl, Canteen Kate and It Rhymes with Lust. He worked on the first black comic hero, the first graphic novel or at least a comic that paved the way for the graphic novel, and was respsected by his contemporaries and peers for it.
