Regardless of the time, you can access water for any kind of consumption thanks to a seemingly simple but vital system: City water supply. As you know, water goes through a number of processes before it starts to pour down from your sink. But how does city water work? Water makes up the bigger portion of our planet; however, usable water comes from either surface water or groundwater. Public water systems get the water from these sources to a treatment plant through a process called catchment. After a series of other processes like coagulation, screening, ozonation, and filtration, the water becomes suitable for human consumption. Then municipal water systems distribute the water to the whole area via pumps, and we enjoy our showers or wash our vegetables thanks to the home water connection. Seeing the flow of usable water once you open the tap may seem simple due to the regularity of the practice. However, there is a complex system and a lot of working hours behind the process that makes it possible.
