| Video Discription | Learn how to make super delicious Chocolate Ice Cream without any eggs! This recipe is only 6 ingredients (including salt) and it can easily be made in any 1 Qt ice cream maker. For this video, I will be using a KitchenAid stand mixer with the ice cream bowl attachment. Chocolate Ice Cream Recipe: - 1 Cup of Whole Milk - 2 Cups of Heavy Cream - 3/4 Cup of Granulated Sugar - 1 Large Pinch of Salt - 2 tsp of Vanilla Extract (I use homemade extract) - (1) - 12 oz Bag of Chocolate Chips * Make sure your ice cream bowl has been in the freezer for at least 15 hrs+ and it helps if the freezer is set to the lowest temperature setting and it is in the deepest part of the freezer. Make this recipe for immediate use or save in the fridge for later. Best if used within 2 days of making the base. Steps to make: 1. Combine the milk, heavy cream, sugar, and salt in a pot. 2. Heat the mixture and scald the milk. (Heat to around 200 - 205 F, or when you see that first bubble. *Do not boil. 3. Pour the hot milk mixture over the chips and let sit for 1 - 2 minutes. If you are using bar chocolate, be sure to cut it into small pieces before adding the milk. 4. Add the vanilla extract. 5. Stir the mixture until all the chocolate is dissolved. 6. Cool the base to at or below 40 degrees F. If putting in the refrigerator, put a cover or plastic wrap on top of the ice cream base. You can speed up the cooling process by making an ice bath, instructions below. 7. Get out the ice cream machine and set it up. Depending on your machine's instructions, start the machine and start to slowly pour in the ice cream base. For the KitchenAid, use setting Stir (Lowest) and then churn for approximately 25 - 28 minutes. 8. Once the ice cream is churned, put it into a freezer safe container. It is recommended to freeze it for approximately 4 - 6 hours, but you can enjoy sooner, it will just be softer. 9. Enjoy Delightfully!! Ice Bath Instructions Steps to make: Warning! Do not put a hot glass bowl into an ice bath! It might explode! Instead first transfer to a plastic or metal bowl. 1. Combine ice, salt, and water into the bowl. Use just enough that your bowl floats on top. 2. Place the bowl with the ice cream base into the bowl with the ice bath. 3. Stir ice cream base every couple minutes to help cool it quickly. Put the base in the refrigerator if it still needs help getting to at or below 40 degrees F.
