| Video Discription | * (Disclaimer: This video content is intended for educational and informational purposes only) * Chicago, Illinois — On February 13, 2023, Chicago police officers conducted a street stop near 2100 South St. Louis. Two officers were on routine patrol when they observed a doubled park vehicle, with a group of individuals surrounding the vehicle. One of the officers exited their vehicle and approached one of the individuals, who they suspected of concealing a weapon. The individual fled, followed by one of the officers, through a park and southbound down an alley. The second officer exited the vehicle in pursuit of the individual, southbound on St. Louis. As the individual approached, one officer retrieved his weapon from his holster and fired once, striking the individual in the chest. Officers immediately rendered aid before the man was rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital in critical condition. Chicago Fire Department officials said he was in his 20s.
