Preparation time: 10 minutes Cooking time: 30 minutes Serves: 3-4 Ingredients: 1/4 cup Moong dal 1 tbsp Ghee 2 tbsps Dried coconut (roughly chopped) 15 Cashew nuts 15 Raisins 3/4 cups Rice 3/4 cups Sugar 1/2 cup Grated Jaggery 1/2 cup Water 3 tsps Ghee 2 Cardamom pods (crushed) 1 pinch Edible camphor Method: 1. Heat a pan and roast moong dal on low flame for 8 minutes. Transfer to a bowl. 2. In the same pan, add ghee, dried coconut, cashew nuts, and raisins. Roast until cashew nuts turn golden brown. Set aside. 3. Wash rice and add it to a pressure cooker along with roasted moong dal and 2 cups of water. Cook on high flame for three whistles. 4. In another pan, combine sugar, grated jaggery, and 1/2 cup water. Boil on low flame until it reaches one-string consistency. Set aside. 5. Open the cooker, strain excess water, and pour the prepared sugar syrup over the cooked rice. Mix well. 6. Cook on low flame until the rice absorbs the sugar syrup. 7. Add 3 tsps of ghee, crushed cardamom, and edible camphor. Mix well.
