Campania is regarded as the gateway to southern Italy, with access to stunning places.

The region borders with:
(1) Lazio to the north-west;
(2) Molise to the north;
(3) Puglia to the north-east; and
(4) Basilicata to the east.

It covers just over 5,200 square miles (about 13,600 square kilometres).
