This recipe is hundreds of years old and was brought to America by Irish immigrates in the mid 1800’s. Some of whom settled in the mountains of North Georgia and Western North Carolina are found in my family tree. I remember my Granny making this when I was growing up as a part of big dinners and as dinner. When in season, cabbage is very inexpensive adding the fat from the bacon makes it very filling.
