Expressing deep concern over the loss of life and property damage, Governor Bose on April 01 assured the affected residents that all necessary measures would be taken to provide relief and assistance. Speaking to ANI on the Jalpaiguri storm, the West Bengal Governor said, "I had been on a conference call with various authorities and people's representatives, local MP. Adequate compensation needs to be given to those who lost their lives and crops and house for those who lost houses….There is a central disaster relief fund from which an advance is given to all the states for state disaster response funds.
