Nickerson Field was a sea of scarlet during his address, with an estimated 3,648 graduating seniors and 4,113 students earning advanced degrees turned out for the ceremony. He spoke to graduates the month before the 50th anniversary of “the most influential political event of the past half century,” the Watergate scandal that made him famous. But while his hair is whiter and shorter than its 1970s shag, Woodward remains on the front lines of monitoring government abuses.
