| Video Discription | The patient is a 43-year-old female, who has a history of recurrent breast abscess. She first presented a breast abscess of about 4cm away from the nipple in the 3 o’clock area in December 2016. After resolution of the first abscess, she developed her second abscess in the same area in April 2017 and then after another resolution, her third abscess in August 2017. One thing to note is that this patient is at higher risk of recurrent abscess due to the fact that she has inverted nipple, which can sometimes produce blocked ducts, a risk factor for abscess. The ultrasound showed that there was an area of chronic abscess cavity that had previous been biopsied. This procedure will use ultrasound guidance in the operating room to help locate this chronic abscess and resect the area.
